Daniele Ferrari

Daniele Ferrari is Chief Executive Officer of Versalis S.p.A. and Chairman of Matrìca, a joint venture with Novamont on renewable chemistry, position he has held since 2011.

With over 30 years within the chemical industry, he served in several commercial operations and managerial assignments for Agip Petroli (Eni group), ICI (Imperial Chemical Industries) and Huntsman Corporation in Italy, UK, Belgium and US; in these capacities he also managed various business development, M&A and turnaround initiatives.

Under his leadership Versalis engaged in a strategic repositioning of its asset base, portfolio and geography by refocusing on higher value-added products and an increasing exposure to global markets through technology licensing and partnership. He is also embarking Versalis on a deep transition path of its business model towards the Circular Economy and Sustainability drivers.

Ferrari is Vice-President of CEFIC (Conseil Européen de l’Industrie Chimique) and past-president. He is a board member of the “Alliance to End Plastic Waste”. He also serves as non-executive director of Venator Materials PLC and Huntsman Corporation.
