Rick van der Ploeg (PhD, Cambridge). Research Director of Oxford Centre for Analysis of Resource Rich Economies. Formerly at Cambridge, LSE, Tilburg, Amsterdam and the European University Institute, Florence, Vice Chair and Member of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, and Member of Parliament and State Secretary of Education, Culture and Science in the Netherlands. Research Fellow of CEPR and CESifo. Main research interests are (open economy) macroeconomics and public finance with applications to the economics of natural resources and climate change. Has advised the IMF, World Bank, African Development Bank, Asian Development Bank, the EU and various governments, and has been on the board of various corporations.
