What is this?

Economics for Business Leaders has been equipping senior leaders with the economic thinking needed to navigate complex decisions for over 70 years.

The taster experience gives you a first-hand sense of the programme: how Oxford economists teach, what the discussion looks and feels like, and whether this is the right investment for you or your team.

It is a genuine taste of Oxford thinking, applied to real business challenges.

What you will experience

Whichever format you choose, the session includes:

  • A faculty-led masterclass from one of Oxford's leading economists, applied to live business challenges.
  • An Oxford tutorial-style session, designed to demonstrate how the programme changes the way you think, not just what you know.
  • A candid alumni panel, hearing directly from senior leaders who have completed the programme, about the experience, how it changed their approach and how they have gone on to use the learning.
  • Interactive discussion with faculty, alumni and fellow participants.
  • An overview of the full programme structure, outcomes and what to expect.

About the programme

Some programmes teach you how to lead. We remind you how to think.

Economics for Business Leaders combines seven weeks of online foundations with a residential week in Oxford, taught entirely by University of Oxford economists. Participants leave with sharper analytical tools, a global peer network and a genuinely different way of approaching strategic decisions.

The 2026 programme begins 26 May. The residential week takes place 12–17 July in Oxford.
