Our Approach
Most of the issues currently keeping executives awake at night are systemic. From artificial intelligence to sustainability, these are global challenges for all organisations and their stakeholders.
Developing an organisational response, therefore, requires both a broader understanding of the components and connections within the system and a focus on the collision-points with the issue itself. How do they interact, and what are the consequences of change in any part of the system?
Our tailored programmes are designed to give leadership and/or strategy teams within organisations the knowledge that will help you address and find the opportunities in these global challenges, contributing to your strategic thinking and improving organisational performance.
Designed with you, for your people
We provide the research background and years of experience of teaching and discussing Economics with senior executives: you provide the context of the organisation, the strategic importance of the issue you wish to focus on, and your knowledge of the teams participating in the programme. Together we the design the programme: deciding, for example, on key content components; whether the programme should be hybrid, fully in-person or fully online; whether it should be a short, full-time experience or extended over several months; and whether it should be delivered to one team or several throughout the organisation
Tailored Programmes:
THE ECONOMICS OF CLIMATE CHANGE
The Economics of Climate Change was our first tailored programme, developed with the Sustainability team at a large consulting firm and has been delivered to over 200 of their top consultants working on the issues of climate change, energy transition and sustainable finance.
THE ECONOMICS OF nature
The nature and biodiversity crisis is a pivotal challenge of our time, driving the urgent need for a transition to a green economy that will reshape global economic systems. The Economics of Nature programme equips participants with essential economic insights to grasp the complexities of these crises and to evaluate the impact of various policy solutions.
THE ECONOMICS OF AI
The rapid rise of AI, driven by tools like ChatGPT, has led businesses to re-evaluate their strategies and embrace automation. Is this shift overdue or a hasty reaction?
This course has been designed to help businesses navigate these complexities and harness AI responsibly. AI offers new market opportunities and boosts efficiency, but it also brings risks around data use and regulatory challenges.
Outcomes
Participants will leave the programme with a deeper understanding of the concept they have focused on and why it matters – not only to your own organisation, but to policy-makers, other organisations in your value chain, and to investors. They will have explored the macro trends, economic drivers, and likely impacts of change on other parts of the system.
Overall, they will have the knowledge, frameworks, and data needed to inform your organisation’s strategy to succeed in today’s fast-changing and complex environment.
How the programmes are delivered
No two tailored programmes are the same, as each is designed to suit the organisation that has commissioned it. However, your programme is likely to contain a mix of the following teaching elements.
- Online lectures by academic experts
- Quizzes to reinforce learning and track progress
- Recommended reading to broaden understanding
- Small group tutorials for in-depth exploration on the issues and impacts for your organisation
- Business case studies to demonstrate and reflect on application of economic principles
- Simulations and games to rehearse possible changes in a ‘safe’ environment
- Debates to apply critical thinking and test new approaches
